Today I break down six popular roster analysis tools, what makes them valuable, and how you can leverage them to improve your roster and win more championships. The obvious pick here, McCaffrey should be going first overall in just about every fantasy football league. Last season, CMC was marred by injuries, but in the three games that he did play, finished as the RB2, RB5, and RB2. In 2019, McCaffrey had one of the greatest fantasy seasons of all time, becoming just the third player to ever total over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in a single season.
He is one of the best pass-catching running backs in the league, and should easily see at least 80 targets on the year. Combined with his prolific rushing ability, McCaffrey offers a floor-ceiling combo that nobody else can. While the Draft Hero did suggest two receivers and two other running backs at this point, I think McCaffrey is the clear top option. Don't overthink it if you have the first pick in drafts this year. Just visit Reddit, forums, or your league message board, and you'll see owners asking other enthusiasts to rate my draft or rate my team. This is where fantasy football draft grader tools come in handy.
To leverage this rate my team tool for real drafts, you'll need to use the Draft Assistant, a component of the Draft Wizard suite of fantasy football draft tools. The main football subreddit /r/NFL is a bit more serious than its basketball counterpart, but it's still mostly used to post highlights and memes. /r/fantasyfootball is the premier NFL drafting subreddit with over 650,000 users. Its discussion isn't quite as formal as /r/fantasybball; instead of daily discussion threads, users make independent analysis posts and discuss them in the comments.
If you need player recommendations to round out your football team on DraftKings, Reddit's fantasy football community has you covered. This draft analysis tool is highly-customizable and adaptable to any league size, roster size, or scoring system. I like this rater because the report it generates is the most in-depth fantasy draft evaluation of every analyzer I examined.
This draft analyzer works with the results of both mock drafts and real drafts. It assigns a fantasy football draft grade based on your full roster, starters, and bench warmers. Conversely, rate my team tools can usually be used at any time . However, usage ramps-up after the first week of games and get more accurate as the season progresses. Once you understand the features of an excellent team grading tool, it's time to find the best fantasy football team analyzer.
I've already weeded-out inferior graders, leaving these tools as my top team analyzers of 2021. This is my first time playing fantasy football, and I don't really watch football, but i read up on reddit to load up on elite RBs. So I ended up with very stacked RB's, quality WRs, but not great QBs in Burrow and Tua. Since its only an 8 team league, did I mess up by not having a quality QB? Should I try to trade one of my RBs for a good QB.
My team was slated to be the best of the 12 teams in our league at the start of the year based on this tool. I'm currently 4-7, and probably won't make the playoffs unless I win this week and next, and it would be mighty close. Below is my original post in the thread pre-season.
For weak-kneed fantasy managers, it's time to move on. For the rest of us, it's time to make sense of what just happened and figure out how to improve our fantasy football teams heading into Week 6. Let's take a look at the biggest takeaways from Week 5 of the fantasy football season. If you're playing in a free league, it may not make sense to pay for a team analyzer. But if you're playing for a prize , the advanced features of a paid rate my team tool are well worth the nominal investment. Below you can see that this roster analysis tool expects my running backs to score 34 points this week !
It projects I will score 107 points total, and if I played every team in my league this week, I'd finish 6-5. If your competition is superior at a position of need for your team, maybe a trade is in order? I evaluated the best fantasy football trade calculators in another article. Check it out for ideas on how to identify and close lucrative trade opportunities. While I do love this draft analyzer, I am sorta bummed that it doesn't provide any specific fantasy draft grade (overall or position-based). The data is fantastic and actionable, but there really should be some type of draft rating.
The basic version of this fantasy draft analyzer is free and provides general, one-size-fits-all analysis. The premium version has all the bells, whistles, and advanced options you'd expect from the best rate my fantasy draft tool. Also I kind of get the feeling the draft wizard analysis likes to favor my team regardless of how I did in my mocks. I then decided to list myself as the owner of one of the teams always ranked at the bottom. When I did the auto mock draft, that team ended up with 3rd best team and my real team came in at #10.
I did at least 40 mocks with your site and that was the only time I wasn't top 3. Alexander Mattison dominated for the second time in two starts, though his late fumble almost cost his team the win. Mattison, Dillon, and Tony Pollard were my top three RB handcuffs this summer, and all three are on my fantasy team. Week 5 showed why handcuffs like Mattison are worth far more than their ADPs suggest. More than any other position, starting the right defense in fantasy football is about identifying the right matchup.
For example, the below-average Tennessee Titans' defense was always going to be a great start against the disaster that is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Try to find a fantasy football tool that aligns with your league scoring system. The closer you can map the tool's settings to your league configuration, the more accurate the analysis you'll receive.
Fantasy SP's Fantasy Assistant is a suite of tools similar to the My Playbook offered by FantasyPros . Unlike their free fantasy football team grader, this package from FantasySP is more a dashboard that gives you insight into your team in the context of your specific league. FootballGuys markets their fantasy team grader as a 'Rate my Team' tool. But last year, a disclaimer on the page said they only update the analyzer during the pre-season. To remain consistent with how I'm categorizing these grading tools, I am classifying this one a draft analyzer.
If you haven't named your fantasy team yet, we've identified some tools to help inspire you. Pick a fantasy football name generator from our list and get those creative juices flowing. FantasyPros is a well-known name in the fantasy football industry.
Their wide range of tools (and vigorously-vetted fantasy experts) make them a popular choice for owners looking to get objective team analysis. I feel like I drafted alright but I'm not super knowledgeable. Also tell me how much I fucked up and where. I'd personally rate that team as fairly shallow. You have almost no quality depth at RB, and even less at WR, especially since this seems to be a 3WR starting league. I'd assume that you traded a great deal away to snag either Lynch or Charles as both are 1st round picks.
I'd try and trade away Charles as he will get you the most value. Try and pick up a younger RB or two, or a RB and a top 15 or 20 WR, or a RB2, WR1/2, TE with upside with that trade. It will add some much needed depth to your team. Furthermore I think people are overvaluing Charles this year anyway.
KC lost a majority of its Offensive line, so his value has decreased. He'll still be top 5, but he won't be number 1 by 50 points like last year. If certain players are drafted too high relative to their ranking, then the analysis will impose a small penalty to the team rating. For weak-kneed managers, it's time to move on. For the rest of us, it's time to improve our fantasy teams.
You can make substitutions within a 'Matchday' , bringing players off your bench and changing your Captain at the start of the next day of fixtures. It therefore helps to have players that play across the different days within a Matchday as well as a different Captain option for each day in order to chase a big Captain haul. The best rank of a Finnish manager in a single season is fourth by Roope Liimatainen, also from Helsinki, when he finished fourth two seasons ago. Liimatainen admits that the final position was a once in a lifetime performance but not an accident.
The success in the fantasy game depends on the commitment and also on luck. Last season the virtual manager game Fantasy Premier League, shortened FPL, had already 5.9 million managers worldwide. The game's aim is to build a team consisting of Premier League players, who will score points according to real events in the PL. Yup, just share some examples of eye tests above. The key point is, when a new player starts to play or a new team system starts to perform, before the stat forms any solidity, eye-test helps me to judge things in advanced.
Examples like low goal conversion by Taraabt, or low assist conversion by Cedric. By eye-test, you don't need to wait that long and knows why these cases happen. Team tactics and player selections are critical, more than people believe, for the performance of each player. I am a manager and coach of an amateur soccer team, so I may be more sensitive than others to observe something special. I had one particular bad season 11/12, that I ranked outside of 100k, with 24k being my 2nd worst season.
The only difference was, I hasn't watched one single game that year. In most other seasons, I watched a lot of matches, across all teams. Therefore, eye-test seems more important for me than the others. Eye-test helps me knowing the sharpness of each player, as well as the tactics of each team, that I could obtain my own difficulty matrix for teams playing against. Yes missing seasons have an affect but it is being overstated. I think the way the HoF works is that it tries to be as fair as possible to all managers playing the game.
Whether they've played the game a long time or not, or had a break and come back or just played consistently. So the most recent 6 years add up to 3.69 and the first 6 years 0.97. 0.92 and 0.92 are the first two scores he's given. These are not unreasonable, Owen's lowest score from his active seasons is 0.93. And often managers improve the more they play FPL. Look at Matthew Jones/Numb's first season, it was his worst and he got a score of 0.92.
Numb is top of the All Time Manager list on PFT. But this leads onto your comment of "bias from those with a longer FPL history", which I find irksome. Some managers with missing seasons do better because of how the HoF accounts for missing seasons. There are different types of managers, like H J Saarinen, who have erratic season ranks. Marlen Rattiner has two missing seasons, calculated at 0.89 and 0.87. His first season in FPL he got a score of 0.81.
So he's been marked up for those missing seasons compared to his first because of how he went to perform in FPL. The next table removes the recency weighting. Instead of the 'HoF Rating' the table is sorted by a 'Global Rating', which is an average score of all the seasons a manager has played FPL. Managers must have more than four years data to feature. He has yet to deliver, but we're going back to the well here. Brown is simply too talented to be producing at such a low rate.
He has yet to reach 50 yards in any game this season and already missed Week 4 due to injury. Brown made his way back in Week 5, catching 3-of-6 targets for 38 yards. Once he gets healthy, there will be better days ahead.
He faces the vaunted Buffalo Bills defense in Week 6, but then has back-to-back get-right spots against the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts in Week 7 and 8, respectively. Those feel like blow-up spots for the 24-year-old. Simply copy and paste your roster to get a team rating and ranking.

Weekly Roster Percentage Projections help you craft the perfect GPP lineup. The fantasy trade calculator is a comparison tool trade evaluator that uses rest of season rankings and projections to grade and rate trades. Begin typing a player's name and a drop-down menu will appear below the input field.
You must select the player from that menu, or else the form won't add the player for comparison. I know this must be frustrating, but you sort of answered your own question. If you are the third highest-scoring team in the league, you are the third-best team in the league.
This is why options like "all play" are becoming more popular in fantasy football, in which you compete against every team in the league instead of a pure one-on-one matchup.
